FROM PHOTOGRAPHERS

I can't believe how thorough this questionnaire is. And the info in the videos is awesome; there's nothing better than someone explaining why they make the decisions they do! Corrie needs to charge so much more for this! - Caitlyn B.

So where did this idea come from?

I'm Corrie, I'm a longtime wedding photographer & I'm sharing what I know from my own experience in my own business.

This questionnaire & the way I make my timelines was born out of a need to efficiently communicate with my couples about everything they were hoping to get from me for their wedding day.

By learning lessons (sometimes hard lessons) as I went, I was able to nail down the 'secret sauce' to what I can do to help a wedding day run as smooth as silk.

And boy am I glad for those experiences now. What the questionnaire has become is an essential cornerstone of the customer service that I provide to my clients, and I couldn't do my job without it.

That's a big statement, Corrie! You couldn't do your job without it?

It's a HUGE statement, but it's 100% true!! Now that I've seen what I've seen over the course of the 250+ weddings I've photographed, I know that my TRUE job is more than just showing up and taking some pictures. I know that:

1. There is no better way to show your clients they can trust you than by being proactive and sending a detailed questionnaire to gather information

2. A great photography timeline made by the photographer for the wedding day is absolutely essential

And so I asked myself two questions:

"How can I help other photographers feel less anxious & more prepared for wedding days and  how can I help create an industry-wide elevated customer service culture that will truly help clients to trust that their photographer cares about the details of their day?"

I asked two questions because the way I see it, there are two issues that plague our jobs as wedding photographers.

And to me, both of the issues stem from just how complicated wedding days are. There are so many moving parts, so many different people involved in the day with varying expectations, so many variables like weather, light and other surprises.

It's hella nerve-wracking, right?!

And it's not just nerve-wracking for YOU, it's also impacting your clients.

The two issues that come from this are:
1. My worry and anxiety over missing some photos that my client was hoping or expecting to have. I worry about unexpected things happening, whether it's something that nobody expected (like a popup rain storm) or just something that the client forgot to tell me.

2. My clients' worry and anxiety that they're not going to get the photos they're hoping for from me. Clients have heard all the horror stories about photographers not being able to handle unforeseen circumstances, or not caring enough to show up, to bother paying enough attention to detail, or even to deliver their gallery at all (!!). Even if they think they've made a good choice, from the moment their relationship begins with me, it's a relationship of trust.

Now, it's not that I think I couldn't manage to photograph a wedding without a questionnaire and photography timeline. Of course I could! But both of these factors have the potential to really impact my ability to perform on the wedding day because at the core of the purpose of my questionnaire and photography timeline is the trust and reassurance that it brings, and that's a big part of what I consider to be my job.

The part that's for me is that I can walk into a venue knowing that I am prepared with all the information and there won't be anything that my client "forgot to tell me". Sure, there could still be unexpected things happen that delay or change the plan, but HAVING the plan in the first place  puts my mind at ease, knowing that I've asked all the right questions to get direct answers AND to spur their minds into thinking about anything else that I might need to know.

And when my mind is at ease, I can be more creative. I can have more fun!

And the reassurance for my clients is that THIS PHOTOGRAPHER CARES. I care about the intricacies of their day. All the photos of the details that they've planned for months and special moments they've been dreaming of all their lives are important to me, and I am in their corner. When I use a questionnaire, my client doesn't even have to spend a moment trying to figure out what information I need from them! All they have to do is answer questions and boom -- they trust that I am prepared. They can fully release the responsibility of photos to me & love their wedding day that much more!

TL;DR: A great questionnaire & timeline is gonna change your clients' experience with you as their wedding photographer.

So Corrie, how long will it take me to learn how to do it like you?

This resource is 90 minutes of goodness, packed with my whole thought process from questionnaire creation (why I ask the things I ask) all the way through the formation of the photography timeline. Once you've gone through the videos, you know more than enough to get started with your wedding clients!

It takes me about an hour to build a client's timeline draft from the questionnaire. It's an hour very well spent!

ONE THING TO NOTE: It will take you some time to create & design YOUR questionnaire in your CRM for your clients. Remember, the PDF questionnaire that you will receive is not prepared as a form that you can send directly to your clients. All throughout the course, I will remind you that the purpose of the PDF is to take the questions and put them into the questionnaire portion of your CRM and send it to your clients that way. This is intentional for a few reasons, but mostly because I would never send a form of this length in PDF form to my clients (I think PDF forms are so clunky and hard to use) and I don't think you should either! If you don't have a CRM, there are links at the end of the questionniare PDF to get 20% off Dubsado or Honeybook. If you don't have a CRM and don't want to get one, there is a link in the same area to a prepared Google Forms version of the questionnaire that you can edit if you'd like, or just send  straight to your clients.

Trust me on this one.

Wait, actually you don't even have to take my word for it! You can just read just a fraction of what my clients have said about using my system in a few of my public reviews:

Oh wait, just read a few more words: A great questionnaire & timeline system is gonna change your experience as a wedding photographer, too.

The value of this level of preparedness simply cannot be overstated. Experience across 250+ weddings doesn't lie!
